Commuting - Steel Fury

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Has anyone else ever suddenly (and for no readily apparent reason) got really angry on a commute, and decided to just attack the whole damn thing? I did this last night, and I'm still trying to figure out why. Normally the flat parts don't interest me that much.

You are way ahead of me, man! :)

Me too. Mind you, the animal in question is a three toed sloth.
That's still better than a Dodo.

Yep - sometimes something will piss me off - an annoying headwind, or just plain sick of a certain hill, and I just go into attack mode: muscles burning, lungs gasping, don't even change down for hills - stand up and really work it. Then I get even more cross if my speed drops below some arbitrary figure,& work even harder.
Mind you its usually on Mondays or Tuesdays - by Friday, I'm too worn down for anything more than a "nice bicycle ride"

I'm there, man. People ask me, "Are you gonna ride this weekend?" I have to say, "I rest on weekends!" ;)
Every once in awhile I get really mad about something, and if I'm riding a bike at that time I could beat Lance. Usually I only get mad when I am tired, so it doesn't happen that much.

You mean you don't have to really attack it just to get there? :D
