Southern California - Who gives the best draft?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

yah but that is why you must work together, let that other guy/gal take their pull, if you see them slow down or downshift, move up and pull ahead. If the front guy is strong or on it that day, let them have thier glory and make a longass pull. Just sit in and spin a lower gear to save energy for the climbs or your pull. Its all about working together.
Work together? You mean I wasn't supposed to pull for 72 miles on the last B2B ride? Herb lied to me!

Well, I woudn't want to draft off Dave. I'd rather he ride beside me and talk to me. Dave's great company on a ride, especially when you're bonking while climbing up a hill with major headwinds in Solvang. He shares gels too. :D
Dave does give a decent draft as long as you're also a small dude. He's the only person on the polls that I've drafted off of so far in 2008.
We haven't seen you in 2008!
Exactly. :( So when do I get to see you (plural)?

No he didn't. That was just your pull. See, . . . now everyone else has pulled on rides you haven't attended, so it's your turn to pull again on the upcoming B2B ride.:p:D

Where's the love, Chuckles????
Doesn't James usually show up (unannounced) with a chipper, "Hiya!" at the exact moment the rest of us are ready to hurl our chicken nuggets onto the asphalt of an 11% grade? :p

Apparently we're playing the game that is directed towards people on the "in" crowd and inherently excluding people who aren't "in." It's like High School.
Sophomoric would be a good descriptor.

Wait... I thought M.E. is doing a different version of the ride. I'll get to hug M.E. if I do your ride?

Hug me? Dude, tow me. My climbing is that of a salted snail at best. :p
I do:D
There are more things to take into consideration than just the size of the individual leading..
such as the ability to maintain a good constant speed?
are they running my over glass or into potholes?
do they have a nice looking tuckus?
is their back wheel bent?...cause that drives me nuts.
do they smell nice?
is there kit and bike matching?
is thier kit distracting taking away from my ablitiy to enjoy my surroundings?
do they randomly brake check me?
do they make me work to hard on rollers?
do they have good stuf in their jersey pockets i can steal if i want?
the list really goes on and on...
i can keep going if need be.
Which is why I vote for bigdraft. He is a great wheel to follow in a pack full of hair-brained Masters. ;) :D

No so many idiots up at the front on Montrose where the big guy can usually be found. Find his wheel and you save a trip to the middle of the pack to recover.

Hair? Speak for yourself:) Hair was just extra drag. Not so much a problem anymore.
