Wait, can we define "best?"
Beanz is certainly the one who displaces the most air, but given a choice, I'd draft off of Happy...

In this case size does matter.

Beanz is first because even I can get a good draft off him.
I'll take 2nd though :p

"Most" is not always "best". :D

If you've never drafted me.....then quite frankly, you've never drafted :)
At 6'3" I displace a lot of air too. But I'll leave it to others to say what the quality of my draft is :)

What game are we playing?
Beanz does give great draft....but I do like riding behind HT when she has her white assos on;)

I voted Jason, because I've drafted off him the most often. I like to draft Dave and Nacy, too. Chimivee? I've never been able to ride fast enough to catch him.
I've never drafted off Beanz before, so I couldn't vote for him. I would guess if I did, I wouldn't even have to pedal!

Apparently we're playing the game that is directed towards people on the "in" crowd and inherently excluding people who aren't "in." It's like High School.

So, you're one of the those who are on the "in" crowd - now, this does sound like a more interesting game indeed, but perhaps for that other forum? :D
I vote chimivee. He's aero enough that I can see around him without trying very hard.

I voted Jason, because I've drafted off him the most often. I like to draft Dave and Nacy, too.I think you're the only person who CAN draft off of Nacy. I'm pretty sure I'd run smack dab into the outer edges and beyond.

I've drafted off of everyone on that list except Happy so I'm going to disqualify myself from participating in this poll.

And thus no visibility issues at all!

Well, maybe that will give you incentive to show up for more of our rides! ;)
BTW, the men on the list are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. And we are lucky they show up for so many BF rides. The women on the list? That's another story.

Because there are too few people who can keep up with you. :D

+1 I was teasing Prendefreu, but you are so correct, Happy. Remember, Alex, there is a group of us who all know each other and have ridden together for over a year. Stepping in and poking at us for having inside jokes and such is a waste of time (although good fodder for joking back). Show up for a BF organized ride or two, and you'll be in the "in" crowd (cause we're all so cool and not nerdy at all ). Now, whether or not you'll be on any of the "in" crowd...well...that I couldn't tell ya.

drafting chimivee is like drafting a mini cooper in a big rig.
but he's a Mini Cooper S so he's got some pep to that motor

I've drafted off of Jason the most, but never Beanz though.
After doing the Pie Ride, I think my best draft has been from Jsigone (not on the list). That long stretch near the Wild Animal Park was great; it doesn't feel like I was doing any work at all! :D

I only hugged you 14 times? That's pathetic. I've hugged some of these men at least 30 times and they just loved it too. That pained-grimace they give me is their way of showing me just how much my hugging on them means to them. :p

There are more things to take into consideration than just the size of the individual leading..
such as the ability to maintain a good constant speed?
are they running my over glass or into potholes?
do they have a nice looking tuckus?
is their back wheel bent?...cause that drives me nuts.
do they smell nice?
is there kit and bike matching?
is thier kit distracting taking away from my ablitiy to enjoy my surroundings?
do they randomly brake check me?
do they make me work to hard on rollers?
do they have good stuf in their jersey pockets i can steal if i want?
the list really goes on and on...
i can keep going if need be.

For some reason, I feel limited while drafting someone else... even though I know it conserves energy. I need to convince myself to not accelerate and do the pulling after a few seconds. :D

There's some guys out at El Dorado that you don't want to draft off of for that reason.

yah but that is why you must work together, let that other guy/gal take their pull, if you see them slow down or downshift, move up and pull ahead. If the front guy is strong or on it that day, let them have thier glory and make a longass pull. Just sit in and spin a lower gear to save energy for the climbs or your pull. Its all about working together.
