Does anyone have any rides or want to go on a long (50-75 mile) ride next Monday in the Pasadena/SGV area?

Thanks in advance.

How cold is it up there and how high do you plan on riding?

Also, slightly related, does anybody know where the snow starts? Pending the diagnosis of a possible sinus infection, we might be talking the dog to play in the snow this Saturday but I want to know where to drive to locally.

My wife would like to go up to the snow this Saturday as well. Maybe a chance to introduce our wives? Get yours more into cycling stuff? Maybe? We'll probably be going up to Pine Mountain Club or Frazier Park area (we lived there for a year once).

That would be cool. It's pending her working situation. She has to go to an install on Saturday, but she's not sure what time. So if it's in the evening, we're going to the snow in the morning. If it's in the morning, we'll have a nice dinner for date night. The time she's working is the time I'll be riding (easy spin since the race is the next day) so you could join me then too if you want. I'll keep you posted... also pending this sinus issue, of course. I'm at home drinking gatorade with a doc appointment this afternoon. I don't intend on letting this ruin Sunday's race!

I don't know how cold it is, but I would like to ride up until Newcombs at least.

Sounds fun. Is that past Upper Big T? That's as far up as I've ridden before (then down Big T)

I'm 1 1/2 miles East of the Rose Bowl, near Woodbury and Glenrose.

If I end up coming (depends on if I kick this cold or not) I'll be riding up Woodbury from Lake to get there.

Bob, what's the weather been like up there lately? It looks pretty good for Monday, a high of almost 60 at 5000ft with mostly sunny skies. I'm planning on going probably to Red Box. Stan is coming with so we will see you at 9am at the Shell Station. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/forecast/MapClick.php?site=LOX&llon=-118.991247&rlon=-117.538747&tlat=35.199584&blat=33.749584&smap=1&mp=0&map.x=158&map.y=161

Angeles Crest Highway was very nice. I didn't take too much time going up to look around, but what little I did I certainly enjoyed. I'll be going back again as I continue to get ready for the KOM. I would imagine this will be good training for doing the Onyx Summit climb.

Here's VanceMac...just about last time I saw him today ;)

Merckx89...this was his recovery ride from yesterday's race(s).
http://gallery.mac.com/mkadam68/100103/IMG_0116/web.jpg

For the first 4-5 miles, I set the pace up to Clear Creek, with Dave & TJ following. I then thought that perhaps I was being selfish, so I let them take over :p

This would be jpConrad, merckx89, VanceMac and Dave, patiently waiting for me at Clear Creek station.
