You can most likely show up as a guest and check it out yourself - introduce yourself to ride leader(s) when you arrive. I'd estimate if it is like Phx GABA that there are hundreds of members and with so many you can find the right social/speed fit.

Yes, planning the 'short ride' for the Tour of the Tucson Mountains on our tandem as Bike Patrol.

Rode TTM last year, and am thinking I'll do it again this year. Maybe I'm just lucky but the wind was a beech, and some say it usually is! And I'll get there earlier, parking was a pain

Have ridden TTM many times since its inception . . . always a good ride. Yes, springtime 'breezes' can be an issue.
