Anybody know what system they are using for the motor?

Looking at the picture, uses essentially the same concept as the cyclone kit: the motor and the cranks each have a "chainring" that they turn, while the rear wheel has multiple cogs. Switching to a large rear cog puts the pedals and the motor in "low gear"

Panasonic makes their own system, Giant used to use them for their Giant/Twist.
The motor is mounted right behind the bottom bracket, which has a pressure sensor (the harder you pedal the stronger the motor output), and the crank freewheels when pedaled backwards (the chain only moves in one direction).

A very natural feeling system and it has the advantage of being able to use the bikes gearing since the motor is inline to the chain.
