Does any one know if early Ultegra Cliples pedals (6400) are rebuildable/serviceable?

They should be...getting the parts needed for the job, though, that might be difficult.

There's a tool you need that will allow you to adjust the cone/locknuts and then lock them together. Without it it is extremely difficult to do. Sorry, I can't remember the part number.

Actually, if he has the PD-6401 pedal, he only needs cone wrenches. The special tool you mention was needed for the Dura-Ace (7401) version and another similar tool was needed for the PD-6402s. I have the tool in my toolbox (since I several pairs of each version)...just too lazy to go get it at the moment.

Edit: I looked for the tool. The one for the Dura Ace pedals (PD-7401) is the TL-PD30. There is another tool for the PD-1056 which is the same as the one for the PD-6402. It is the TL-PD40. Like I mentioned before, if you have the PD-6401 (the white ones) you should be able to adjust them with regular nut or cone wrenches.
