Been there, done that on Palm Springs. PLUS they ruined it by moving the finish from the school. Now there's no place to wait for friends and socialize and see everyone.
:-(
I did it 5 years straight. Skipped this year. Done with it.

What if they offer a double option? Ending at the school? :D

Yes. I didn't do it this year. Every other year, or every couple years, is just about right for that ride.

I suspect I'll be there. I like to visit Palm Springs and this is a good reason to get out there. I also like to do the really big rides from 3 - 4 times a year. Of course, a year is a looong time from now.

Perfect time of the year to visit Palm Springs. I had a great time, all in all.

I think the only reason this ride is any fun is; one because there is an unlimited rider cap, meaning you'll always have someone to ride with, and two, it's relatively flat, and can make for a very fast time. I shaved almost an hour off of my previous best and i think the only way im going to top it is to do this ride again.

Yes for sure. As soon as I finished I was already thinking in my head that next year my goal is going to be to do it at 19 mph. I love Palm Springs and TDPS was my first half century (I was soooooo tired and I barely finished), then it was my first century and this year was my second time. If I could get a job there, which I won't unless I decide to change my career, I would live there in spite of the heat.

Would I? Yes.
Will I? Maybe.
Just to do it, well, kind of a been there done that feel, although you can pit yourself against your last time.
Enticements would be:
*bringing a newbie, and support them.
*have a cadre of riders at your speed and play Team Paceline; shooting for an awesome finish (for your skill level of course).
*pre book massages the day before and after the ride, be driven to and from dinner and margaritas, have breakfast served in your poolside veranda on Sunday. My fantasy world: leave me alone!
*tell your co-workers that you have to go, because your a sponsored rider. Like they would know. :D
:):)

Yes, I'll deffinately do it again...
The last two times my wife and I drove up on the Day before and we walked around the expo etc and stayed a couple of nights, this time I drove up with a Friend Saturday morning, did the ride and drove home again which was OK...

Next year we'll get a Hotel again...

Next year my husband and I will plan on staying two nights, just so we won't be so tired driving back to San Diego. This year as soon as the ride was over we rode back to our motel, packed up the bike and headed home, made for a very exhausting day. We had a great time and my husband said next year, staying two nights instead we will have more time to look around a little and really enjoy our time.

My wife and I had a great time, plus it was good to ride a century the weekend before the Butterfield Double, so the timing was right. Overall a great event, very well organized and presented.

We will be back!
