I am just curious. Doesn't a longer head tube mean more comfort? I need the biggest frame they make and than some.

Some of these cheaper fixed frames like Fuji have 170mm h.t. s. My roadie as has a 190 at 58cm.

If someone out there has a 60cm Kilo and a tape measure and knows, I'll buy you a virtual beer! Thanks

No, you messed up the conversion, that's in centimeters, so it's not that bad.

To the OP, since the Kilo TT has a traditional, non-sloping top tube, it's head tube will be at about the same height above the ground as the seat tube. If you need a bike with a taller head tube for the equivalent-sized frame, you'll need to look for a more "comfort" type bike with a sloping top tube, like the redline 925. The Kilo TT looks like a pretty traditional design. Replacing the stem ought to get you wherever you need to get for comfortable reach and handlebar height.

Edit: have you tried emailing sales@bikesdirect.com or bd4alternative@yahoo.com ?

HT length matters if you are concerned with getting a solid fitting bike. As with the seat tube height it helps determine the stand over height. Also it comes into play with stem length/rise and comfort. Search bike fit on the web and you will get a slew of articles. Basically Peter White, Keith Bontrager, and Serotta give the whats up w/ fit.

If your LBS has access to a Serotta size-cycle, you can mess around with different HT sizes and really get a feel for what works for you and what doesn't. It sounds like over-kill but for someone who spends countless hours on their bike for work and training rides, a good fit with every possible tube length can make or break a bike that is enjoyable to ride.
