Figured I'd just say hi, although I don't expect to post a lot, but seeing as there's a whole forum for introductions I thought what the hey.

I started cycling (commuting) about 2 months ago, having not been on a bike since around 13-14 (!) - now twice that age. Really enjoying it, wish more people would get into it - seriously - and not just use bicycles as weekend toys.

Welcome aboard Swoop! I agree that it would be cool if more people would ride. Who knows? We may get our wish if gas prices keep climbing.

RonH - my bike's called a "Maxiss"... almost the cheapest bike in the shop ;) it seems a very similar build/quality to the 3-4x as expensive Giants and what-not, and it's got Shimano gears... and it gets me where I'm going! (usually)
does commuting cover work-travel or general travel? I use it to go to the shops and footie and what-not, pretty much anywhere I can. Every now and then I might go for a ride just for the fun of it, but no races or anything.

Pman... our day (the day when the price of fuel overtakes the value of getting where you're going) is coming... mwahaha!
