Foo - Hey the thing I was consumed with for 3 weeks made the Local newspaper.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Yes I was one of the few dozen.

Well, the trebuchet didn't work too well, the person who drilled the throwing arm messed up and drilled the holes crooked thus reducing distance. At least this one stayed up. Not like last years one which broke.

well i cant get your link to work but the fact that your building a trebuchet is awsome.

i myself am working on one. My physics class has been working on it off and on for the last couple months. its taking along time due to limited class time to work out in the ag shop on it.

the whole thing is made from stainless steel tubing, the base is 8x3. the arm is 7 ft long and will be suspened 5 ft in the air. the sling is another 5ft, and we are useing 2 tracter counterweights on the short end of the arm.

fixed weight not free hanging....we had a being argument in class about which would give us more torque. the teacher finaly decieded on fixed.

I read somewhere that the steam-catapult on aircraft-carriers can launch a 2-tonne pickup truck beyond the horizon...

There was a video somewhere that had some guys attaching some rockets to a Mini and launching it...

Why do people bring up old threads? Lots of really old threads have been dug up in the mtb section recently.

ChAnMaN, that trebuchet you're building sounds sweet.
