i was just at my LBS on my break from work and the guys were all excited to tell me about the 2004 Pista that was being built downstairs. so excited, they brought me down to see it.

this thing is ALL CHROME. every last bit of it. the saddle is ALL CHROME colored.. i think anyone who buys this bike should change the saddle immediately. or i will make fun of you.

there are still no pics of it on bianchis site...

Looks pretty damn hot! But yeah, you'd need to swap out the saddle and bars.

the one i saw looks NOTHING like that. maybe they are offering it in different colors.

as i said, the one i just saw was ALL CHROME. every single part. as opposed to last year's model which was grey, with black components (hubs, cranks, stem, etc)

no, I think that is the same bike; look at some of the other photos larger; I think the bike just looks colored because it is reflecting the colors of the surroundings. good camoflauge, actually.

I'm going to have to see this one in person. I loved the matte black from 02 and while disappointed that the 03 was that flat grey, it looked pretty good in person with the black components. This one...eek. Not sure. The photos don't make it look too hot but I'm not into the chrome look.

But hey, if it rides well, that's all that matters.

wow...i want to see one in person.

chrome is cool and all, but that bike just screams steal me, or **** me up.

Well, that's certainly a change. I'd have to see one in person, it seems cool though. As I already have a black Pista I don't think I'll be picking one of these up though.

aside from the looks of the bike, what do you all think about the build of the bike...wheels, components, etc.

i'm looking for an inexpensive fixed gear for some training and use on the rollers. :)

thanks.

All chrome track bikes aren't all that new, Schwinn
was doing Chrome Paramounts back in the 60's
(maybe even earlier, not sure when they started).
but yeah that WTB saddle bites. change in for a black
Alliante, or Turbo or even Brooks Swallow anything but
that UGLY silver thing.

atala was also doing chrome track bikes too...

as far as the components go, i bet they're about the same as what's on the '03 pista. which is pretty good...

I was hoping they'd put a cooler fork on it this year. Still sticking with the mountain bike fork wannabe.

If any of you want to get rid of your '02 or '03 Pista to make room for the '04, let me know! I'd be interested in helping you out.
