The last time I did this at Wrench Science, someone called me up as well as sending me email, congratulated me on my fine choices and asked me if I was ready to place the order for that Fondriest now.

Bikes: Cervelo P3C, many Litespeeds

Back in '99, a friend and I tried to build an expensive bike. It was a Litespeed Liege with a Reynolds Ouzo fork, Ti stem & seatpost, Speedplay Ti pedals, Dura Ace, Lew custom wheels, and an SRM crankset. If you added up the retail prices, it was close to $10,000. I still ride it today.

I wish I remembered the name of the wheels, but I remember seeing a site advertising $3k for a wheelset. ATA or something I think.

Yeah... ATA was mentioned in another thread. I also mentioned the FiR Ronda Corsa wheels which I believe are around US$2,000 each.

Ok, here goes, and its not too out of the question in terms of
exotic components all are generally available today.

Ottrott ST Frame - $4,890.00
F2 Fork $ 565.00 plus $100 for tinting (has to match the bike)
Campy Record Gruppo $1,190.00 (minus crankset)
campy carbon crankset $ 698.00
Easton ec90 seatpost $ 169.00
Chris King headset $ 109.00
Speedplay Zero ti pedals $ 270.00

Campy Cables $ 35.00
Brooks Swift Saddle $ 150.00 (or Swallow once it is in production again).

All of the above items are either from Framemaker, or online catalogues.
I could go nuts with ADA wheels, or Lew wheels but we are in a recession,
right? (or is it just an economic slowdown?)

DAAAAMN!!!

If I spent that much on a bike, I'd be in divorce court and out on the street to boot. But heck! I'd have my $10,000 bike.

Are all those Colnago spec'ed? I thought you could only get the CF3 as a pre-spec'ed complete bike. BTW, you forgot to list the Colnago carbon fibre pen and watch.

Yes, the megabuck wheels are called ADA's, and are Dutch made. They have carbon rims, spokes, and hub shells and ultra-low-drag ceramic sealed bearings. I met the wholesaler once on a ride, he lives on Bainbridge Island so there may be a few pair floating (and I do mean floating, the pair felt lighter than my front Mavic Helium) around the Seattle area.
