Road Bike Racing - Any reason NOT to go to 81* seat angle on the TT bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've got a zero setback post on a 76* frame, and I find that I'm pulling myself way out onto the nose of the saddle (which is already as far forward as it'll go - Cervelo TT specific saddle) during TT efforts. I'm not even halfway comfortable, but I make good power and have a flat back.
Both the Thomson and Profile Design forward set posts would give me an effective 81* seat tube angle, and hopefully allow me to have a little more arse support.
Any reason I shouldn't do this? It's not like I'm going to the CAT3 World Championships :p

Go for it. Be comfortable. Create power. Win TTs.
I ride about 80 degrees because it's comfortable and it's what I have a decent position at. As long as you aren't racing UCI or somewhere that checks bikes, ride what works for you.
But a 76 degree angle with a zero post and saddle full rails forward should get you very close to 80/81 I would think. Could you be too stretched out on the top tube?

I'm thinking I may be a hair stretched out on the top tube, my current RR bike (Jack Kane Team Racing) is 59cm - but a 56cm top tube, and I'm comfortable on it. My previous RR bike (Blue RC4-AL) was 58cm with a 58cm top tube, and I was very aero on it, but it handled like crap because I was so far forward. It also felt a hair small in terms of seat tube length.
The TT bike, a 2006 Fuji Aloha 1.0 is 58cm - also with a 58cm top tube. I'm running 25cm of drop to the elbow pads on the TT bike, 20cm to the tops on the Blue and 18cm to the tops on the Jack Kane. I think I might be a slightly better fit on a 56cm Fuji TT rig, but that didn't occur to me when I bought the frame  and I got such a good deal on it, I think I'll try to make it work.

I actually could have moved the seat forward, but since I already ride on the nose of the saddle and I want to stay in a reasonable position in case I do nationals, I elected to leave the setback where it is. Having said that, I am at 3cm behind the BB. If I can do nationals, I will go with a shorter nosed saddle, and then drop it back the final cm and just deal with it.

Have you measured your seat-tube angle? I have the same bike in a 60 and the specs said it was 76 degrees, but when I was fitted it only measured 74. With my saddle all the way forward (and with a long nose) the tip is 5.5 cm behind the bottom bracket. Also the specs were a half cm short on the TT length when we measured.
That's what i'm waiting on right now, an 08 Aloha in 56.
