No, no one will clobber you here :) . This is the Introductions forum, where everyone is nice (or else I smack them one :) ).

We have a forum just for eBikes, too, so don't worry, you will fit in.

Welcome to BF!

I sure wish I could lay claim to Tama (the cat), but he is actually a Japanese woodblock print by an artist named Hiroaki.

A helmet would be good before you go riding the e-bike!

Sa-WEET!! Another member to the 2-wheel club! Welcome, welcome. It's good to come out and make yer statement!

There's lots of avenues here in this giant forum - something for everyone as a matter of fact. And it looks like you have a good sense of humor - :) You'll have to keep us informed as to your bike choice. Soo many to choose from, soo many different types, etc. Hit your LBS's (local bike shops) - test out as many as you want (test rides are totally fine with them) till you find a bicycle that says "YES". And believe me, you will. Of course then the addiction sets in ... but we, in the know, will not expand on that <smirk>. Enjoy!

And to further enjoy your ride (not sure as to your riding preference), check out via internet local bicycle clubs and also trails that your area has available. And if you have more questions, well you have a wealth of informed people here who enjoy all sorts of bicycling that can help you on your way!

Welcome to BF.

I have a question. In fact it's the same question I have about almost everyone riding an eBike. What's the fascination? Why not get a real bike?

i felt the same way when my brother-in-law from texas called(about 6mos ago) and told us he had gotten into e-bikes. I was Ho hummmm...yawn yawn. Then he visited us for a week. Started talking about his e-bike. I was polite (ho hummm...yawn yawn again) I said show us these ebikes. Well, i was flabbergasted. I thought if he had just shown us a pic i would have been gaga sooner.

Maybe they are not for everyone, but it is for me, and it helps the green world also that is an added plus for me. it's like finding your mate-for some it just is. I haven't even ridden one yet, get it this week, this will be my first time (coy look), and i am so excited. This will be the first, but not the last, i want one or two different types of same brand.

Well, as long as they get you out and about, that's all I care about!

I know that there are probably a number of people here where I live who would probably enjoy riding bikes, but just don't want to trudge up some of the hills here. An e-bike would be perfect for those people.
