I don't know what it is, but I love Pista Concepts. Something about them screams 'track bike perfection' to me. Anyways, post your favorite pics of Concept builds you've seen (or own). Here's mine:

that bike is from a dude in nyc who built it up for his gf. supposedly the crank threads are stripped (making it near impossible to take off the cranks)
at least that's the excuse he used when my friend tried to buy it off fixed.gr/ny

Wow, and he only wants $800 for it, and makes no mention of that problem? Awesome! Sounds like a stand-up kinda guy.

yeah, i didn't build the bikes, i just like them. i'd immediately trade out risers for drops if i got in the vicinity of any of these.
basically what i meant was this: nice fat tubing, very clean welds to the point where it almost resembles a filet brazed bike, a frame built for speed. these are the things that appeal to me about concepts.
Awww what about Tk2 and Masi Coltellos.... and Treks.... awwww...
you're just saying that cuz you've owned two of those...
i was thinking of posting that argon for honorable mention, but yeah, it is pretty damn sweet too. thanks for putting it up, i agree that it resembles a concept pretty closely. i like the fork on it a lot.

As much as I'm generally about the old school, I do have to admit to lusting after a pista concept I saw in a shop window back in 2003. I was the '03 model, matte black with celeste lettering. It was a straight Kevin Bacon in the pawn shop window moment. Except I didn't go in a buy it, nor did I have an awesome grey military sweater or maroon beret.
I still think that was the best year for bianchi paint. the steel pistas were either matte black or battleship grey. Back before they defiled the genre of chrome track bikes.
I wonder why they never did a polished AL concept? Or why hasn't anyone else polished one for that matter?

Because it's cheaper to slap a coat of paint on it than it is to have it polished.

A bare polished Concept would look good, but IMO they reached their height with the white in '07, for me it can't get any better than that. Tooth paste track frame status.

see this is my favorite. concepts with the threadless drop stem, keirin style. if i had a concept i'd definitely ride it like that, probably a less steep angle on the stem though (and a less cut steerer tube than if i was running a straight stem).

Except if you actually *RACED* on the track with the bike, you'd want it to be straight or even slightly up, not pointing to the ground.
andre nickatina

no, it depends on how far you have the steerer tube cut. as long as the frame fits, i should be able to get the same position with the stem at the top of the steerer tube pointed down, versus in the middle pointing level, or at the bottom pointing up. i mean, as if it's stem angle that sole dictates bike fit; it's the saddle to bar drop that we should be worrying about, if i can get the same drop with a drop stem at the top vs. a rise stem hugging the headset, so be it.

Is there a reason that the 'cut out' section on the seat tube doesn't quite align properly with the curve of a wheel? It sorta annoys me in a superficial kinda way.

i think it does align if the wheel is all the way into the track ends.
(look at the yellow and black concept)

How many people would still like them if they didnt have the rear wheel cut-out in the seat tube?
Thats a big plus on the style and looks of this thing IMO.
the thing that bothers me about the cut-out is that the
chainstays could be shorter ...otherwise the cut-out
isn't really as validated as it could be.

Or people could take a link or two out of their chain but they dont seem to think of that often. I guess they dont care.

on the whole cutout topic, i do think it's kinda "far" away from the tire. there are other "aero" frames out there that allow for a closer fitment in the rear. on my ftp , the clearance alot closer than my friends concept and our rear axles are of similar positions on the dropouts

just when i thought my lust was subsided, this thread pops up.
the concept is seriously one of the best looking bikes, and by far my favorite aluminum bike.
