Touring - Anyone Have A Thorn Nomad??

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My wife and me are seriously considering the Thorn Nomad for our upcoming 5 year tour with our 4 year old daughter and cat.
I like what I see on their website and even with shipping to the USA their prices seem more than fair especially considering what you get as standard spec on their bikes.
Any thoughts, observations would be greatly appreciated...
BTW, Hello Everyone... we're new here and very glad we found such a great forum board!

Welcome.
I don't have a Thorn Nomad (Distributed by SJS cycles I think), but know the bikes and have met people who have them
I think the general concensus is that they are really good "off the peg tourers" with a lot of features only found on custom bikes.
The finish on those I have seen is excellent and they tend to get favourable reviews in the bike press.

Ive met truely nomadic Nomad users, they are up to the job.
How do they compare to the Bruce Gorden BLT in terms of price?
