Living Car Free - Another poorly worded sign

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
As bike transportation becomes more popular, here is another dumb sign. It is dumb because the on premise parking garage has nice sheltered bike parking. In my opinion the sign should address the goal- prevent rude bikers from endangering or inconveniencing people by locking to the hand rails or blocking the ADA ramp. I parked my bike at this building for years, locking to a post near the street before I discovered that the parking garage had nice bike parking. Maybe the sign should also point to the bike parking location? In the past year I've noticed many more bikes parked out front. One problem is that the parking garage makes money on cars but bike parking is free so the management has no incentive to encourage bike transportation. The building tenants on the other hand get an extra parking space each time a car driver decides to bike in.

That would be a reasonable request to make of the building's management team...

I've found that many times, management may not even know that there is bicycle parking.
At one Ralph's in La Quinta, CA, there were "no bicycles allowed on property" signs at all the entrances to the shopping center and nice solid steel bike racks at both entrances of Ralph's. Mixed messages???
In the case of the O.P.s sign, it may just be that they went out and just bought a mass produced sign because it was the cheap answer to their problem and really didn't think much about bicyclists or the message at all.

I know of at least one very similar sign around here that was put up because of the BMX/freestyle
crowd. Grinding on the handrails and what not.
Someone parking his road bike isn't going to get a second glance, kids hanging around on their BMXs will get the cops called.

They could've at least made it level with the other sign...
No issues here as I am one of 4 people in the town that ride one of these primitive machines powered by magical energy in my legs.
