I think an easier way to find members would be cool.

How are you trying to find members?

I know I wish there was a way of going to the members list, and having a dropdown menu, as with the search function.

I suspect it would probably put an even larger strain on the DB, though.

I go to the members list, click the starting letter and pick a random number where I think they are. I don't really care doing that, but sometimes it can get annoying.

Because if you don't know the member that well, or there aren't enough letters for the dropdown menu to work, it's almost impossible.

What if the member in question is E ! ?

Or e2py?

You can find them if you go to the members list, but not if you try to do a 'search the forums'.

I just did a search for E ! and it came up. I don't mean the "Search the forum", if you go to the memberlist, there is a "Search Member", the link is located right above the "Last Visit" column. If you don't know the entire name, just put in a couple of characters and some suggestions will pop up. Or just list what you do know and a list of names will be made.

Go to members list
Click on search members on the right hand side in the blue strip.
Type in the name.
Press go.

I could never make it do that...strange. I thought it was odd I couldn't do that, as I thought it was a standard feature of vBulletin :p .
