Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Rear brakemount tail light??

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I just saw someone ride by with what appeared to be a very bright led (red) in their rear brakemount. Are these available for retail, or do i have to make it myself? My gf has a rear-brake mount frame; this would be pretty cool for it.

i haven't seen a rear brake mount tail light available in stores (that doesn't mean it doesn't exist though, just not that i've seen), but used some cheap p-brackets once to mount a blinkie to a rear brake mount before. it was nothing fancy; lined up two p-brackets, and snapped the clip on to them. it didn't last in my case, but i'm sure someone could whip something up that would work better.

I use a strip of velcro to attach my blinkie to a flipper-fender that I cut to half-length.

Rear reflectors on 80's road bikes almost always come mounted to a little brakemount bracket. I used to ride around with my Cateye LD1000 mounted to a 20 year old Cateye reflector bracket. :D I stopped that only because I didn't want someone to steal my light.

you can buy brake pads with pressure sensitive LED's that light up when you brake.
