What tires would you recommend for me? I'm a beginner MTB rider and will be doing the bulk of my riding in Cottonwood Valley near Vegas. First time out I seemed to lose grip alot at just the wrong time. I am sure a big part of it is my technique which hopefully will improve, but couldnt help thinking the tires were at fault a little too. The tires are 26x2.1 ITS Ninja that came stock on my Ironhorse Maverick 4.5.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

I am just down the road from you in the Bullhead City / Laughlin area, so the terrain is rather similar. I have had good success with the WTB Weirwolf, and the IRC Trailbear. Of course it depends on what size you can fit, but I prefer the 2.3 on the WTB and 2.25 on the IRC. The IRC Mythos did not hold up well with the rocky terrain, and did not have much traction either.

Obviously each person will have their preferences, but these have worked well for me.

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to look into what width of tire my rims can fit and check out those WTB tires.
