Bicycle Mechanics - clicking sound in rear wheel?

I have been trying to track this sound down for awhile, maybe you can help. The bike is an EVox 120 semi recumbent 21 speed. The bike makes a ticking sound when under moderate to load on any of the 4 highest gears, reguardless of which chain ring I am on. When I coast there is no sound. The clicking seems to be at the same speed that the wheel is spinning. The chain on this model is pretty long and loose. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Since you only hear it when you are pedalling, the quick guess is the chain. Lubricate and check for stiff links. I am not familiar with this bike so it is only a guess. The next thing would be to make sure your rear der is in adjustment.

Is the sound once per revolution, or faster e.g. chain link speed, as Toki suggested above?

I had a problem similar to this some time ago. It turned out to be a badly worn hub bearing. Worth checking, but of course there is no guarantee that it the problem. It is also worth checking for loose spokes.

Derailuer mal-adjustment.

A misaligned disc brake caliper can make a ticking sound as the edge of the brake pad rubs across the vent holes in the disc. Happened to me only when putting some torque on the hub.

If the chain was cut too long, it may be slack enough that in the higher gears the derailleur can no longer take up said slack, and the chain is rubbing against the cage. Doesn't seem like that would be likely in all chainrings though. A sticky link might be more apparent in the smaller gears as well.

Could it be your valve stem? Mine clicks on my front wheel, or at least it did till I wraped a bit of electical tape around the stem.
