Short 16 mile hill ride. 15.3mph average with a stiff headwind for a good part of the out and back ride. Not sure how much climbing there was.

Is there a ways to calculate total climbing on an online route maker? I'd just like to know how much there is on the rides that I do.

Did an hour of aerobase building with Coach Troy.

Ride, if you use bikely.com you can just click a button for elevations. I've even mapped individual hills to get their elevation. It's the upper left that says "show."

Rode the chair at least 30 times on our local ski hill. Lots of quality ski time today :D

1354 ft of climbing in about 16.5 miles. I had about a 15.5 mph average. I'm not too familiar with elevation changes on rides since I just started playing with this program, but how does this ride 'rate'.

Thanks!

It rained and was very windy all morning so I thought I was doomed to the trainer this afternoon. Silver lining was going to be the Daytona 500; I figured I'd keep with tradition (since '79) and spend this February Sunday watching the Great American Race as is my custom while getting a little training in. Well, the weather cleared about 2:00 or so and the thermometer said 56 degrees. I was tempted to give it a go outdoors. I checked the long-range NWS radar--nothing out to the west so I decided to go for it. I watched the start of the race and I figured I'd be back in time to see the last stages. It was still windy--really windy--but I can deal with that. Rain, that's another deal. About midway through the ride it started...thank God I had a rain jacket with me, which I quickly donned. The rain intensified and I headed into the wind for the ride home. Always wanted to know what it was like to ride through a tropical storm! I learned later that the wind gusts were clocked at around 50 mph, which I totally can vouch for. The temps dropped as the front came through; I got soaked and progressively colder but I survived. Finally got home, cold and soaked to the bone but feeling good about NOT having to endure the trainer yet again. Yes, it was cold, wet, and miserable but a hot shower fixed that, along with a good meal afterward as I watched the end of the race unfold. An Indiana boy won, not Tony or Jeff but Ryan's from South Bend, where my kids were born--that counts! And, we like Roger Penske around here. The ride: 32 miles, avg 16 mph (slow!). Glad I went out...

34 miles and 4700 vertical. After watching the prologue of the TOC, I rode Old La Honda and Alpine Road. Started in warm sun and ended in cold fog.

Tomorrow or Thursday, I may cut this to 60 or 80 -- depend what spurs you take out.. but I'll do the big climbs. I think 4475 of climbing. My favorite local century so I do not have to drive to the ride!
