Until I can ride again

Was under the weather over the weekend. Then came Monday, was feeling good, headed out, On a jump things went wrong, very wrong, I'm a very good jumper, but I made an error on approach. Went down on my left knee very hard, heard no pops from the knee, just felt pain. I got up once, fell back down, knew it was bad right then, had a friend take me to the ER. The docs said it was probably a bad sprain, but if the swelling was still at the level it was at when I got to the ER, to return to get knee X-rayed. Well, it's been a couple of days now, and the swelling has gone up. Starting to think I really messed something up in my left knee.

Heal quickly!

If you did blow out your knee, does that mean you'll be spending even MORE time here? (is that possible?) j/k.

Sucks about the knee, I know, both of mine are in bad shape!

Well, I did not log out last night.

Just got back from the doctor, which included an MRI. There is ligament damage, guess it will be quite awhile until I can ride again, almost a years worth.

Wow! that's really bad... They can't be serious about not riding for a year can they? My mother-in-law had damage to her knee in a really bad auto accident and she's been able to walk around like normal only 3 months later... I hope you heal quickly!

I tore my ACL and meniscus back in April, had surgery in May, lots of therapy after that, now I'm doing some weight training and pedaling around a bit. Another 2 months before I can really do any aggressive riding though.

Stay involved, it really helps pass the time. I'd go out and take pictures/film my friends riding park/street on their bmx bikes.

Since the recovery won't be speedy with ligament damage, I'll wish you an efficient recovery!

How long will rehab take? Have fun a PT, my PT was a cute girl and I enjoyed letting her hurt me! Can I say that?

Rehab time, I can give you on Tuesday. Probably will be allowed back on the bike in 7 months.
