... and here is a link to a youtubevideo (http://youtube.com/user/openyourmindnow) of my bottom half getting onto the bike to give everyone an idea of how this bike fits me, let me know if I should do more.

So:

-New(ish) rims from a friends bike which has seen maybe 3 miles of road times.
-Great new tires ($27.99) at my local bike shop and I couldn't be happier with them, it was too cold to go riding for very long but ahhhhhhhhh (so much better than knobbies).
-My own touch on the handlebars, I have had those beauties for a while and I will cover them with foam putting bar ends inward on the very tips of the horns kind of mimicking trekking bars giving me a nice reach.
-My seat from my old road bike 65231 (Frank the Tank)
-New chain

forgot to mention that the two pictures of the dropouts and the rack attachment behind the seat post should be taken into notice...

If your really going to tour, you might need both brakes and some more gears. It looks like a low budget SS conversion.

Well I have to get brakes of course and I am waiting for more money to get the Dérailleur and crankset. Very cheap SS Conversion too, not even in a good gear ration. For now this will have to do but I think it is a good start...

Are those rims double walled? And what's the spoke count? You don't want to tour on anything less than 36 spokes, and the stronger the rim the better.

The front rim is doublewalled and the rear isnt, both are 36 spoke count alloy. I feel good for now, before I leave I will get a really beefy pair.

If you just rebuilt your wheels, moving the front rim to the back, you might be able to get by on those rims, if you wanted to.
