hey everyone! im brand new to this forum. i used to race bmx when i was younger and have never even been on a road bike. im looking to get my first road bike and im looking at buying the trek 1000, from what i hear its a good beginner bike. i am in good shape and looking to start riding on the weekends. i need a reason to stop drinking on saturday nights. im sick of being hung over all day sunday. LOL.

i live in orlando and am going to be looking for a partner or group to ride with...can anyone point me in the right direction on how i can find other riders in my area? i dont really know where to start...except for here...:) thanks

I see you already found the regional forums, so I don't need to point you there. Yeah, drinking on Saturday nights and being hung over would not be my idea of a good time :) .

Welcome to BF!

Treks make a great intro bike to the road. Have a 1200 here for my roadie fun, although for the last couple of years I've enjoyed more mtb.

Welcome here!
