yeah they picked it out of a catalog i think. unlike us at unc who actually designed it ourselves.
well despite his fugliness a navy guy won the A crit today at ncsu. so i guess i can't talk too much smack.

There's this thing...when you work for the government that comes around August or September. It's called "EOY spending." Sort of a use it or lose it thing ;)

As a retired Navy Officer I can only say - Holy Crap matey; what were they thinking.

It takes some cheek to slap "commitment, honour, courage" on something as hideous as this.
Truly sorry for all US Navy guys. Especially those who'd have to wear this... garment.

Maybe they were trying for the Team Slipstream look.

^^ I think that goes without saying, NR :)

But, as far as their attempt goes,

Tell that to #439. He spanked you guys for 3 primes today. 2 in the C race and 1 in the B race.

If it was too good, we'd criticize them for spending too much time/money on the design.

Still, it's good to criticize the Navy. Especially when you're ex-Air Force.

too bad i don't have pics of what the army kit looked like back in the early 90s.

if you're interested, i can regale you with tales of how they earned a well deserved reputation of being crash prone instead.

leave it to the navy to make a kit that bad. nothin' against the kids, but whoever drew this design up needs to get floated out into the harbor and sunk

They used to have a really nice kit; wish I had some pictures for the end of '90s version. This is clearly hideous.

I saw Greg Henderson do that at a crit in CO. He was not racing with his team and he said he just wanted the easy money.

Tell them to let me in then :) Nothing against you guys, but I want the challenge of landing a plane on something moving in the middle of the ocean. Runways can be too easy. What do you fly? I'd love to pilot a Raptor even a B-2.

Prime hunting can often be more lucrative than a placing. And its good training. Having a front row seat to all the races (I was one of the officials, my first one! We gotta train too), I can tell you that this guy was getting a good workout. If he sticks with it, I doubt you'll see him hanging around the Cat 4/5 classes for too long.

good point. I know I don't have the strength to attack like that. I just need more time on the bike.
