Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Topeak Road Morph pump o-ring failure

My Topeak mini pump is only two years old and for the last five months it's been dead all because a stupid piece of rubber that is no more than $2, but what size? I've been to more than 100 hardware shops, even called Topeak customer service numbers, which inform me to "Get a new pump"

Well I'm not throwing away a $40 pump which is the nicest I've ever seen.

So what's the deal? Size 12 is too small, size 13 won't even fit in the cylinder..Anyone have this pump and trouble?


Because it's lifetime warantee, and I've heard people getting the part sent to them for free. Where, how?


PS: Tried all sorts of ways to fix it, nothing works.

Try taking it back to where you got it from and asking them whats up. They will usually have info on how to collect on the warrantee and be able to talk to the distributor about getting the obscure little part that you need.

my road morph's handle broke off one night.

really nice pump, but i feel like a fool with a nice pump that broke because of a two cent piece of plastic.

Call Topeak again and ask for help AGAIN.
I have gotten more than my fair share from them by just talking nicely.
You can mention the lifetime warranty and if that doesn't work, then go back to the store you got if from.

Oh yeah, you may get a different customer service person at Topeak who may be more forgiving or just do the right thing.

they do for 6 bucks.

I seen "some" kit online...what, an o-ring? This so-called kit was around 18 bucks...

I have no idea where I bought it, no receipt, it was over two years ago.

I have bought like four Morph pumps. I have had the same problem with two. Never have I been near the shop where I bought it. Talk about planned obselence. It is really lousy of Morph to not arrange o rings on a pump with a warranty. We need, b***h loudly , I guess. Hardware stores never seem to have ideas. It helps to clean the grit out of the interior and lube the o ring. / Still. I bet my two ruined Morph's only got used No more than six times over the likely two years. I don't have that many flats on the road. ( About the same time frame as you.) So what's up. Too bad, I love the Morph. So I continue to buy another after another.

This sucks. I love my morph too. I will try to keep the insides clean and lubed.

If you have an I.D. and an O.D. you should be in and out of the store in 3 minutes, counting the wait in line. It's not like there's any sort of amazing rocket science going on in the o-ring industry.

I took the pump with me, the one time I tried to repair it. Just the luck of the draw. Guess, the did not have the right size. I should try again.

If you really cant find the orings you can check Mcmaster or some other industrial supply website I can guarentee they will have it but you may have to order a bunch.

Don't go through the dealer, go directly to the topeak website. When I broke my roadmorph's gauge I took pictures of it and sent them an email. They sent a replacement in a week no questions asked.

If someone wants to give me pretty exact measurements of the ID and OD, I could hook it up with a SKU number that you can take into any ACE Hardware and either buy it or order it.

I only have my plastic Lee Valley calipers here in scotland and it's tricky to measure a flexible ring accurately but they say 21.5mm OD, 16.5mm ID. Give or take 1/20 of a mm of course. I can't imagine that rubber would have a particuarly fussy tolerance.
