Mountain Biking - Replacing my 'HEADSHOK' fork...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hi all,
I own a 1998 Cannondale V700 MTB.
I wanted to know if I can replace the 'HEADSHOK' fork with a standard type fork...
If I can, do I need anything special? modifications?
Thanks alot.

You can purchase adapters for the head tube from a cannondale dealer at the very least. Probably from any shop many Cannondale bikes I see have been converted to the inferior shocks by other manufacturers.
Good luck.
I love my lefty.

Agreed, all you need are headset reducer cups. Expect to pay about $50-75 for them. Take your frame into the dealer and have them installed as well.
The reducer cups will allow you to run any standard 1-1/8" steerer tube!
