Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - BF hanging up

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This probably belongs in another forum, and it probably has been discussed already, but for the last month or so I've been having a problem with loading pages. They get hung up on one item, I think from an ad server somewhere. Until I get a time out, I'm hung up and can't see the entire page of posts.
http://ad.doubleclick.net/adj/bikeforums.tmus/ros;abr=!webtv;tile=1;sz=160x600;ord=444723232649266700? timed out.
This was in the log as I was writing this message, since the 'post new thread' also hung up.
I'm using Safari on my mac, but I've had the same problem in IE6.
Does anybody know what is going on, and is there an easy fix?

IE is no longer supported on the Mac. What version of the OS are you using, what processor Mac, RAM, etc.? Sounds like an issue with your computer. Another suggestion: download Mozilla Firefox (another browser) for the Mac, see how that works.

Firefox on Linux has worked fine for years. Of course, I've got BF images and ads completely blocked as well.

Almost, I use IceWeasel instead of Firefox since it has come out.
To the OP, if you don't have an ad blocker, you could ad doubleclick.net to your hosts file to block it. At least I assume you can. Are you using the OS that is based on BSD? I haven't used a Mac, but I assume they have a hosts file.

I tend to get the mouse with the tweaked contacts for the buttons or something...a bad mouse can really mess up your whole ball of wax.
Other than that...XP or 2000 (IE 6 SP2) and IE7 set to classic view. The tabbing works and everything else works and I never tend to get many popup warnings at the bottom of the screen (I turned the warning messages off and I'll see that icon if it happens.
Nothing of the sort yet today HERE...
