Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - a few pics from broken parts and broken hearts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I took a few pics from the alley cat this weekend
they can be found here

Thanks for the pics.
This is the first year I haven't been able to help organize it. Looks like it turned out awesome with 160 riders, double what we had last year. As far as I know that makes it the largest alleycat in ATL history. Next year we'll have 320.
Anyone who stays at Jay's place has a good time. I spent many nights there with Karl and Emma as a result of the kegerator.

That beard looks just like mine but mine is mostly brown with a few hints of red.
I'm totally gonna make my beard, bike and jacket match from now on.
You won a pair of jeans? Thats pretty random. What place did you come in and how long was the race? Looks like a good time to me.

Man, it was a fun time last night. My partner blows though. Court, I should have a never bailed on you as a partner. If I would've stayed with you as my partner, I would've finished the race. Instead, my partner blows down some random side street and I lost him. I finished the race but it was by myself. I did puke on a Lexus on the last stretch there on Moreland Ave :)
james, you are my hero for puking and riding through it

Really, I can't let this story go untold. Its now my personal favorite. Actually, I'm gonna dedicate my own post to this story. Please direct yourselves back to the main SS/FG page to find my post.
i also want to hear from the girl who got hit by the car, and the two guys who jumped the train.

I hope everyone is ok.
I didn't hear about the trainhoping. Was it MARTA or one of the freight trains?
Last year there were a few kids (notably, those who now run No Brakes) who rode on the freeway for a stretch.

Not a bad way to avoid lights and traffic in a race. Will remember. :)

No, thats the wrong girl. The girl with the purple tights is Bobby's girl. She was fine. I don't think she raced. Her boyfriend did. His team did the Heath Ledger tribute and called their team "Broke Bike Mountain." They wore flannel and cycling shorts.
some chick rolled up to the after party in a leg brace who had been tagged by a car

i'm pretty sure you're right about it being the biggest alley cat in atlanta ever. the partners thing made a difference in the numbers, i think. plus, people seemed to be more interested in it being a party than an athletic competition. or they were really hungover from the night before and didn't want to ride that hard. heh.
Thanks for the pics.

We seem to get a lot of that in Atlanta.
I heard that the AVX guys took all the bags again. We need to stop giving bags away to people who don't wear them. Maybe there should be a special AVX only prize of pink shoe covers or something.
I think the partner idea is solid. And it works with the valentines day theme. Next year we double numbers again.
