After much guidance from you very helpful folks (including some on a thread which mysteriously disappeared), I've decided to take a cash discount from my local Trek dealer (can you believe Trek is providing the value of a new frame when my 15 year old steel frame cracked??) and get a new model 2100!
I really only use it for commuting (8 miles each way) but, I figure, I save way more than the value of this bike in parking, gas, or even bus costs, plus I can get my exercise while I'd otherwise just be stuck in traffic. More important -- I deserve it!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
