"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Shave The Johnson

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Gentlemen,
You might think I'm trying to be cute but I'm not (although it's impossible to not have a half smile as I ask the question), and I'm asking for racing reasons only (what you do south of the border on your days off is your own business--I don't want to hear about it).
I've found that a good shave on the business side of your manhood helps keep things cleaner when the heat goes up. I find it easier to get in and out of lycra and I'm generally more comfortable without so much hair.
As a racer or serious rider, do you shave your johnson for "practical" reasons?

Roadies are just plain weird. You would never read a post like this on the MTB forum.
I'm just thanking GOD he didn't post pics.

Where is this "business side" in relation to a "non-business side"? Mine has properties more akin to a Möbius Strip.

Excuse me for hijacking this thread in a semiserious way. When I shave my face the hair keeps coming back and I must do it again and again... Will not this also happen to other hairy parts of ones anatomy ? Riding with itchy stubble does not sound like fun.

once or twice a month I give the region a trim. It's a bit uncomfortable for a day or two then it's fine.
I should restate: I don't mean shave so much as trim. Trim Your Johnson should be the title of the thread. By that I mean the region not so much the member itself.

I'll bet 1/4 of the people that responded to this shave their balls.

**** it go for it. The benefits to having a practical reason is your buddies won't be able to tease you but the ladies will still be thankful. I know reading some of this will make you squirm like a 12 year old but if your clean and tidy women are more inclined to get involved down there.

I don't shave. I rub it vigorously until the hair falls out.

By the time a woman knows it is "clean and tidy," I think she is already pretty "involved down there."

Yeah? Well most women would actually rather have hair down there (trimmed, but SOMEthing) to remind them that they're not involved with a 12 year old boy, but a man. If she wanted a 12 year old boy (hairless everywhere, no physique), she's go for a 12 year old boy. She's involved with you because you're a man. Appreciate and flaunt that aspect, dumba**.

Ya might wanna start shaving your ass, because you are apparently getting a bunch of hairs stuck up it.

Been there, done that, couldn't stand the itching. Never again.
Besides, when did men become so metro that shaving everything to become hairless like a 12 year old boy, or a woman became sexy? At some point in the 70s, hair on the chest was considered extra masculine and was a sign of strong libido/sexuality.
Anyway, as a point of agreement, I use a hair clipper to trim my chest and arm hair down to a 1/4 inch during the summer. It is much cooler. I also have shaved my legs in years past, mostly for the cooling effect more so than because it is what the racers do.

Is there a wiki page regarding this pic? I've seen it several times and have no idea the story behind it. No clue what to search on....

You dont't have to shave bald everywhere to be tidy. Shaving the sack bald however is recommended. If you tidy up the top area to be very short that works too. Nobody wants hair in their teeth.
As for women thinking your not a man if your shaved, you might think this is the case but its not always. It depends on how you act. If you are a very confident, alpha, person she will see the complete shave and think that you are confident enough to do what most men wont. If however you are more of a timid person and she sees a clean shave, she will think you are trying too hard and might be turned off.
The shave can work for or against you depending on your personality and body. If you are a big guy with a hairy chest she might not like it. If you are a lean cyclist with shaved legs and groin it reeks of confidence, if pulled off right.

Just shave off half, light the other half on fire and when the crabs run out hit them with a rock. :D

The fact that one of our forum members feels the need to keep pimping his detailed guide to shaving one's legs is bad enough. Discussions about shaving your cock, balls, taint and whatever else you're going for is just stupid. Why do you hate cycling?
