I just got a new Flat bar road bike yesterday! a GT Legato 4.0 from Performance. Now I just hope I can go from 250 lbs. down to my goal of under 200. Hopefully the new bike will be great motivation to do it.

you'll probably get addicted to this sport/hobby/activity very quickly...always remember the great feeling when you're on the beastie - that'll be the motivation!

Congrats...and just remember, even if you don't lose all the weight you want from your body, what you're gonna lose from your wallet will compensate! ;)
Congratulations on the purchase. It takes more than a bike to lose weight, you'll have to make lifestyle changes as well. Although I haven't lost weight I am definitely healthier and more fit. I have redistributed some of my weight by building muscle.

Congratulations on the new ride. Get out there and enjoy it. When you get a chance post some bike porn for us. ;)
