I'm pretty into the idea of colorful cranks and have been thinking about getting some for a while. But I am surprised by how infrequently I actually see them in the wild, mounted on bikes. I'd be into seeing pictures of a variety of different bike frame colors and cranks colors. Cheers!

Not mine, but I really like the pink on top of the red and white color scheme. Much more interesting than if it were red too.

The colored 75s look so much nicer. The RDs just come out looking cheaper with the anodization.

There's a guy in Columbus with the gold 75s, and they look quite classy.

welp, i was hoping for a few more than two... oh well. I know in Portland people spend a lot of money on fairly superfluous items which make their bikes look more awesome, and I am not against that at all. How come these people don't seem to be into anodized cranks? There just don't seem to be that many out there... am I wrong? Is it too hard to match up frame/crank/deep v colors, or do the anodized colors not look that great in person? Maybe a nice pair of silver cranks is just too hard to beat.

I like the idea of anodized cranks (I saw the green sugino ones at ben's and they look pretty killer) but they just seem like the color would scratch/rub off quickly and then they'd look terrible.

Um...aren't most if not all alu cranks anodized?

I remember when everything that was metal was anodized. Crazy times. Every MTB had purple bar ends and a teal stem.

True, most aluminum alloy products are anodized to prevent corrosion, although I think in this context "anodized" is used to refer to aluminum that has been colored through the anodizing process. So yes, I guess it is somewhat redundant.

What era is this from. It looks like it has disc brake tabs in front and rear so it can't be that old? I know a very very select few companies made disc brakes for FS bikes in the early 90s but they were only on custom rigs and exclusive to downhillers.

That is a 2001 Titus Racer X. And yes it does have disc brake tabs. Might switch them out for disc next year.

Ya I was going to say, it couldn't be that old. My 1996 doesn't have discs.

I remember reading in Mountain Bike Magazine an article about a custom made Cannondale downhill racing bike that had disc brakes. I remember doing a double take and going "WTF, why would anyone want disc brakes?!!!"

10 years later... I'm putting them on a new bike.
