Hi all. I've been lurking around here on and off for a while now and I thought I should finally properly introduce myself. I live in Greenville, SC. I started back riding again last year. I got a mountain bike in 2005 then a couple of months later went out of town for 6 months. It took another year to get back on the bike. After a few outings on the trails I realized that I missed the feel of the road that I remembered from high school. So I put some slicks on my mtn bike and put it on the road. Soon I'll likely pick up a road bike in preparation for some of the longer rides that I have planned for the fall. But For now, the mtn bike is good for base miles and time on the trainer.

Welcome, and good to hear of another one coming back to riding. And I think you have the right idea too, that is train on the bike that you have so you can 'really' enjoy the new one you purchase.
