Bike Shops near Phoenix airport?

I am getting tired of this Wisconsin winter and am looking at coming to Arizona next month for vacation. I would like to bring my road bike to get some riding in. Short of shelling out $250-500 for an airline case which may or may not be subject to additional surcharges, I am considering contacting a bike shop near the airport and seeing if I could have my bike shipped there and assembled (I'm not much of a wrench jocky). I rarely fly, so purchasing a case would be an almost one time use for me. I could conceivably rent I suppose, but would prefer to ride my own bike.

edit: I should add, bonus points for good road/campy shop.

I suppose it depends on your direction of travel! Where are you staying?

A few miles north of the airport, look up bike barn (bikebarnaz.com) I like 'em a lot.
A few miles east, look up Tempe Bicycle or Domenic's Cyclery. And Tempe is a nice place to stage out of, Scottsdale, Phoenix and Chandler are all within a nice warmup ride. Think ASU, giant college-town, bike lanes everywhere.

Funny thing, these are also places to check for a rental, so you've got it covered every which way

Looks like the final destination will be near Apache Junction, although I'm not 100% sure where. Looks like it'll be about a half hour or so from the airport.

I was looking at Tempe Bicycle, looks like a decent place, website has some good info there.

Tempe bike is a pretty nice place. I only have experience with the one on rural though they've always treated me very nicely (even walking in with a very crappy bike and asking for repairs). I have to agree with SandLizrd about bike barn as well. I just purchased a new road bike there and they were very helpful. Both bikebarn and tempe bike are nice shops though.

Dominics is my favorite they seem to sell more high end parts where as Tempe Bike on rural sells more cheap beach cruisers to college kids. As for bike lines I am really disappointed in Tempe, Gilbert and Chandler have them on about every street though.

Domenic's are nice shops too. They just don't have much that I'm interested in so I don't venture in often. I guess its all really pretty pointless since after posting I realized that the OP was very likely already in AZ and probably already got the bike here... Oh well.

Domenics is the best. I drive from north phoenix to them because I really trust them. Pretty close to the airport too.
