I know there are a few clydes/athenas here from the Toronto area so I am posting this here, I eluded to this in another thread, but am posting it separately. I have no connection to the show, just posting this for everyones information.

The Toronto Spring Bike Show (http://www.telsec.net/bicycleshow/index.html) runs from March 7th to 9th, admission for adults is $13, lots of area dealers will have stuff on sale (so take cash), and the bike companies have their latest stuff on display.

PM me, if your going, and maybe we get together a group for the show, imagine a roving band of clydes/athenas at the show as a group:eek: I usually go Saturday morning, for the opening bell, which is 10am. Then leave when the crowds get to the point where it's difficult to move around, which would be easier as a group, a couple of bigger guys can act as blockers for the rest of the group.

A Herd of Clyde's/Athena's would be useful to let the LBS's and Manufacturers know that there IS interest :D

Plus of course, by the time the 5th person asks, do you have this is 3XL, they will start to clue in that maybe they need to offer sizes other then XS, S and M..... Mind you the last time I went, there were a few Jerseys and shorts in larger sizes, I really want a pair of tights, which tend to be more expensive..... What is cool is that they offer free underground bike parking for the event, although I usually take the subway as it's downtown.

Remember to bring your passport OR drivers license AND birth certificate (with the seal on it)
There are now issues comming and going for folks who don't have one or the other and the last thing anyone needs is to be stuck at the border.
I applied for the new passport card (like a drivers license)but it won't be here till may.
If you're comming thru NewYork check the delays at the bridges. Usually the Peace Bridge (Buffalo)has far less traffic than either the Rainbow or Lewiston Queenston (up in Niagara Falls)
Definitely take enough time to check out Dundas street..It's like going thru europe then asia all in one drive. :D

This has been an ongoing quixotic mission of mine for a decade. Cyclists and Kayakers apparently are expected to be under 170 pounds.
Performance was the first mail order house to recognize a need for something larger (but still fall short of the guy or gal over the 3xl sizing)Now I see Nashbar has joined suit (at least with their house brand) and...Let's all thank God for AeroTech Design. Cudos to Cathy and company.
I've tried to impart the need for the lbs in my area to think about carrying larger clothing.
Close your eyes and think of the retorts..Lose some weight being the most frequent.
If you folks who cycle think it's bad you need to kayak. :(

This'll be my 6th or 7th visit to the Spring show. I always go Friday at opening, for the best pick. It really is the best place for cycling apparel, because stuff is 25-50% off; sometimes more.

The one-day Fall show has some amazing deals on bikes if you get there early and know what you want. Word must be getting out, or cycling more popular, because last Fall I had to wait in line... never had to do that before.
