I rode up to Hamilton on Saturday, and the descent was treacherous. All sorts of gravel in the road, ruts, irregularities, huge potholes and depressions. The shade of the occasional tree hides these hazards.
At the Prologue, I talked to some official on the course, he was nonchalant, stating that on Sunday, the road crew would fix these depressions with quick fix asphalt. But they would need a legions of workers and and truckloads of the stuff to fix them all.
Tomorrow, I'll be looking more to see if there are any spectacular crashes on the Hamilton descent, than I will to see who wins.
