From VeloNews TV interview after stage 2, about midway...

“...we may not prove to be the smartest team out there, or the strongest team out there, but we may prove to be the smartest.” :p

This thread isn't fair. If you watch the video you'll see he was clearly correcting himself. He meant to say we may not be the strongest but we are one of the smartest. He just got a bit ahead of himself.

Be nice. Remember the Tour when he got the bee sting on his face and had to drop out?

Vaughters gave one of the most open and frank interview's I have ever heard from a sports figure. Take a listen. HERE (http://www.competitorradio.com/details.php?show=197) is the link

WHAT? Dropping out for a bee sting?!?

It was a bad sting and he's slightly allergic (i believe). Furthermore, he couldn't get a cortisone shot to reduce the swelling because it was considered a PED (performance enhancing drug). So he dropped out.

yep. got a bee sting on his eye and it got so swollen he couldn't see. Due to doping regulations he could not take "xxx" (don't remember the drug, cortizone maybe)

on another note,
the site with the interview, www.competitorradio.com has a fantastic archive of racing related interviews. If you needed something to listen to while on the trainer, here it is. Great
