doesn't have to be slippery. yeah you'll prevent unnecessary wear when it's slick, but when it's dry it can be just as much fun.

you gotta feel for the blowout, last thing you wanna do is pull over and fix a flat so be prepared for the dismount when it starts to get smoky.

without some grease or lube the components wear way too quick, before you know it it is cracking and pitted
