Hi, Everybody
I am glad I found this forum. I have been enjoying reading it. My name is Blake and I own a sign and tee shirt business. You can check out my website if you are interested. I don't know if I am allowed to link to it here, but it is in my profile.
I am 30 years old, married and have two boys ages 7 and 5. I bought my boys bikes as soon as they were about 3 years old. We like to ride as a family but since my boys are still small we do not do the centurys or stuff like that.
We usually ride 8 to 10 miles at a time. We went to the Longleaf Trace in Southern Mississippi last fall and rode 31 miles. That was a ton of fun!! 31 miles is about the limit for a 5 year old on a single speed bike.;) I would really recommend that ride! It is a 41 mile rails to trails project. Here is a link to some guy that rode it and took a bunch of pictures. (This wasn't me, I just found him thru Google.) http://www.feldoncentral.com/photos_enhance/longleaf/
My wife and I bought our bikes about 10 years ago. They are Giant Rincon Mountain bikes. We thought that is what we wanted at the time. We have since retrofitted them with Bontrager Road tires and better seats because our type of riding is more just road riding. I just bought my oldest son a Trek 220 24" 21 speed. I wanted to get him more of a road bike but could not afford it. This one is tough too, I don't think he will tear it up too quick.;)
We take our bikes and our Popup Camper and go out about 1 weekend a month for some fun family time.
I think I have rambled enough about us... I am looking forward to getting to know some of you!
