i got this cannondale track the other day. it's one of the old shiny chrome (or is that polished aluminum? don't know the difference) frames. it's generally in great condition, but it's shine has been dulled by some sort of residue. does anyone have ideas of what this is / how to deal with it?
thanks!

Is it clearcoated? I thought they were anodized clear. Thus the "small quatities". But don't take my word for it.

If thats on the clear coat then maybe you could use scratch doctor.
Its basically for polishing cars clear coats. I imagine it would work the same way on a bike.

i'm really ignorant of this stuff. i have no idea if it's anodized clear or clearcoated. maybe i'll try some of the clearcoat polish first to be safe. thanks!

You may want to hold off until a few more chime in. There is a depth of knowledge here, it's just hidden under a sludgy layer of organic matter.

I've got a couple of Cannondales and, any time I've had questions the local dealer couldn't answer, I've had great luck calling the factory. Either the rep. who picks up the phone finds the answer right away or I get a call back before the day's over. Call them and post back here - I'm curious what sort of finish is on that frame as well. - Mark.
