Introductions - Hello

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello I’m an engineering student at Clemson University. My bike is my means of getting around. I like riding the trails of the Clemson University forest trail system to relax. I’m also training for the South Carolina 200k brevet in March and the 300k brevet in April. I have been reading this site for a few weeks and getting a lot of good information. I have started to ask some questions and have gotten very useful responses. Maybe I will be able to meet some of you doing the brevets.

Hello Lauren, I would imagine that you will run into a few members doing the brevets. It seems as if the long distance cyclists are a rather tight knit group :) .
Welcome to BF!

Thank you for the welcome East Hill :)
Welcome! And wow! Brevets huh? :) I belong to a roadie club (touring roadies) and a mtb club and do a lot with the racing club. Have a couple in the roadie club I know real well who are into the lonnnng distance (I mean I like doing trips on the bike - SAG is nice - 5 days was the longest - but we only did between 80-115 a day which I like - and miss) - and this couple has been trying me to interest me on participating in one of the 3(?) brevets my club does. So far I haven't. :( More power to ya!!!!!

Whoa, way past this old school/slide ruler type. Sounds like a great combination to me based on what I deal with daily in the D.O.D./NAVFAC Southeast Division. Those are the comming disciplines.
