I have to be at a conference in SD next Thursday and Friday and I'm hoping to get some rides in around the meeting so I don't have to bring my trainer.
I'll be staying at the SD Marriott at the marina. Does anyone know where I might go for a 1 to 1.5 hour morning ride that isn't too far. I'm speaking both mornings, so I have to be back by 9:30 am.

It might be raining on Friday so good luck with that. If you don't mind some pedestrian traffic, there is a bike path that rides along the bay heading north. You might be able to ride up to Cabrillo Mount but that might be pushing it with your time limit. You could cruise south on Harbor Drive but its industrial and the roads suck.

Cabrillo Monument and back is a good call. Otherwise, given your time constraint, I might just consider doing loops on Harbor Island.

This is approximately a 25 mile loop of a nearby area, including Cabrillo Monument.

Just be careful near the Harbor and the airport. Have fun!

Careful of what? Cars? People? Falling airplane parts?:D

All of the above! :D
Most likely you'll be going counter clockwise. If that's the case, you'll be riding with flying cars to your left, while a double-lane ramp from the sky will be loaded with flying cars merging in from your right. You have the option of going onto the sidewalk at an intersection before (and underneath) the ramp, but the entrance to that is easy to miss (enter from SE corner).

This is the intersection. You'll be heading right if riding ccw. You'll see a white/grey patch as well as some sort of a curvy sidewalk south of the ramp parallel to the road. It'll bring you to the next intersection where you can hop back onto the road.

Yup. That's my commute to work. The bike path, instead of the street, is very helpful in that location. There is a lot of crazy airport traffic.

Thanks. I guess I should leave time to get lost a few times.
