Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - OT: I love you blickblocks!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Oh, believe me...I'm not.
It starts with odes. Then the hugs. Nothing good will come from this "love" behaviour, I fear.

It's where's waldo, but with BB.
Seriously though. I may have some sewing DIY questions in the coming weeks. I feel confident thanks to BB that a bike subforum will have more answers then a local Joanna Fabrics.

Yeah the posts where I suggested to people that skipping, skidding and other hispter braking tricks were superior to normal braking ought to have been deleted.

Ok, here's every man's fantasy come true:
What do the women really talk about in the Women's Cycling forum?

I know many, if not all of you, have top tube protectors.
How many of you have KNITTED stuff for your bikes? That's right, knitting. Or crochet, for that matter.
(and for those who are interested, there's always pillow fights afterwards :) )

Will you really have your bike with you? I built a bike for a friend of mine and she's coming to Scoltand in March, and perhaps to Finland to see me - so I am pondering how to have her bring it away with her - to China.
Anyway, yes, I'd be happy to show you the most beautiful country in the world. I had in mind to go on to the Route 2000 (http://www.hel.fi/wps/wcm/resources/file/ebcad948f11e967/R2000_08_fin.pdf) with friends, maybe you could join.

yeah i take my bike with me everywhere.. my frame fits in a military duffel bag and all my parts go in an insulated large zippered freezer bag type thing.. everything is padded with my clothes and bubblewrap..
its been totally cool, except my last trip.. i didnt have my crank puller with me and the airlines snapped a tab off my cranks.. but i got cool new cranks and a new chainring :)..
btw it will be me and my husband, for about a week at the end of april.. prolly like april 29th - may 6th.. that would be so awesome to meet you and see finland..
wroomwroomoops
02-21-08, 06:58 PM
Great! The more the merrier. And by the end of April there should be no remnants of snow anymore.
By the way, Route 2000 is mostly light off-road. If that's an issue with your bikes, I can lend you my singlespeed MTBs but we probably could fix at least one of them, though, if that's a hard requirement.

Drivetrain on the left side?
Yeah, I was wondering about that as well :p . I came to the same conclusion as hockeyteeth--that the photo got flipped when uploaded.
I'm still trying to decide if skidding would be easier with knit covers on the wheels...but I think 'shredding' would definitely be the term I'd use :D .
So, anyone do any knitting of top tube protectors?

my bike can handle 28x700 tires at the biggest.. right now it has 23s but i have been wanting to get 28s..
also dominica is, um, pretty off-road everywhere hehe.. if its not potholes the size of cows, then its dirt roads covered in weeds, dime size rocks and, um, cows..
so, i mean, i am used to off-road conditions.. but not for 70 miles.. so maybe i will take you up on the mtb offer, we will see when its time..
also, its not neccesary that its fixed, that just what im used to.. i can ride any kind of bike ;)

Alright. I know you like smaller frames, so I'll see what I have for you. How about your husband?
