Im just curious as to the different cranksets available that will provide a 42mm chainline with this shimano BB, search results recommended sugino rd's with the chainring on the inside.... seems sketch, any other options?

tons of chainline answers in the search, just none this specific

discuss...

Dude it's all about your spindle length. Different spindle lengths of different crank sets to get the 42mm.

For example, I have Dura Ace cranks up on a UN54 109mm BB. It's not perfectly 42mm but it's super close. Chain will not get tossed except with the loosest tension while going down the steepest hill (I know this by experience :)).

Do you not have cranks yet, just a BB? Wade through eBay for old Shimano 600 cranks if you don't want to pay a lot, those seem like a steal compared to Sugino's cheap ****.

any decent shimano/sugino/whatever road crank should be good with the chainring on the inside.
