My freind recently bought a single chainring for his bike to convert from 3 to 1 at the front. We could get the chainrings loose but couldn't get the crank arm off, even after we un-did the allen key bolt thing. The crankset is Truvativ Hussefelt and the single chainring is Truvativ DH single ring.

We really need to know how to get the crank arm off. Is it with a special tool, is there something else holding it on, do you need a crank puller?

Yes, and make sure you remove the crank bolt washer if there is one, and make sure the puller is for splined.

This tool from Lifu is a do-it-all wonder. Built in 8mm hex key fits most modern crank bolts, while the 14 and 15mm sockets handle older cranks with larger bolt. Once you've got the bolt out, the crank puller threads smoothly in and easily backs the cranks off the taper, thanks to a high-leverage extendable arm.

Hey man, I've got a question. Does JensonUSA pay you for all the advertisements you provide for them? If not, they sould :D

To Joe: You should make money off of all the advertisements he posts, just like from Google.

No they don't pay me for advertising. Just my favorite place to buy stuff.

I've seen a lot of people that post about their favorite place to buy stuff when they make a recommendation or suggestion. Did not think that is a problem. Don’t quite understand why you would ask Joe to make money off of all the advertisements I post, just like from Google.

Would you rather I post directly to a manufacturer? Then let an inexperienced, rider try to decipher what is good and what is hype, then try to find a place to buy something? Or would it just be better to give a direct link that pertains directly to the question asked?

Would you be happy if I posted links from several different retailers? I can do that too. But who’s question was I answering? He asked a simple question, I gave a simple answer.

Supergo.com and many others sell the same tool with the same description I posted above. Or he can go to http://www.bestwebbuys.com/bikes/search/q/lifu/isrc/Google-i-browse-mfg, again, he’ll get the same result.

Or maybe you could just quit your job as the forum police, and answer his question directly and simply with your favorite place to shop.

I'm not a forum police, that's what the moderators are for. How come you got rid of your avatar? It was a nice way to advertise JensonUSA.com

Because I did not come here to offend anyone, just to answer questions. Obliviously you took offence to me supporting JensonUSA, so I removed it.

Don’t see you complaining about the people with other manufacturers in their avatar. So there must be some kind of grudge against that particular shop.

So the solution is easy….remove it. I did it’s done, now get a life and move on.

Do I get anything from the big S for selling bikes or posting tons and tons of advertisements for their awesome products online? Nope.
