Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Quality Wheelset?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am pretty damn poor and I'm trying to find a wheelset that's quality, yet not overy expensive. If it must be slightly used, that's even a possibility to me. Does anybody have any opinions on Vuelta XRP wheelsets?
formula hubs / mavic cxp22 will treat you right till you know whats what.
there is also a lot of info in hear so search around and let us know any questions you come up with.

I rocked the vuelta xrp for a while and they were great. I have sold the bike and the new user still has them on there. If I were going to buy a similary priced wheelset today tho I would get the cxp22/formula from bicyclewheels.com
formula to dp18 is cheap as hell and has been beaten to the ground by many people on here

While I had my bike built up with Velocity Deep V's and Suzue and admire their strength, if I was doing it all over again, I'd go a different route. Those suckers are just plain too heavy for my tastes now.

Don't have any experience to compare it to, but I too have the Bike Island Vuelta XRP set. The only other stuff I've ridden is '80s mid level stuff.
I did NOT use the cog and lock ring supplied with the Vueltas. I bought Surly stuff. I'm not a crazy skidder, or weigh much, but I've skip stopped plenty of times without stripping the hub. I am still using the cheapy Kenda tires, and crappy rim tape. I don't remember much about it, I just remember it seeming really cheap. No flats though.

I have the bicyclewheels.com cxp22/formula clincher set in black - great wheelset for a great price, so far so good.

For quality you won't be able to beat a handbuilt wheelset on quality components :)
