The new ones are very nice...the displays are much easier to read.

However, the new one runs speed off the front wheel. The old worked off the rear. So, if you have a trainer and speed/distance is an issue (I was only concerned about cadence for trainer use and if you shut off the auto on/off, the cadence will work with the front wheel stationary), note that this one will not work that way.

It will work if you buy an original Astrale mount kit which has the longer sensor wire to run the speed off the rear wheel. I did that with my trainer bike and couldn't be happier. Gonna run it to the rear on my second bike too. So I can use either on the trainer!
